Ducati V4S
If it's all about looks, then you have to start with a Ducati. You think these these are the most beautiful machines ever created, the doubters will say that the looks come at the cost of reliability. Whatever way you look at it these are fast bikes that are always going to get you noticed!
Kawasaki ZX-10R
Apparently you can buy it in colours other than green, but please tell us you wouldn't do that! If you're going for a 1000cc bike, then this is surely on your shortlist. The riding position race focused and perfect for the track, but if you're using the bike daily on the road too then 'race focused' might just become 'cramped'.
Honda CBR600RR
Track days might be your thing and a 1000cc bike sounds great on paper, but let's face it, you're going to spend a lot of time on the road. You might find a 600 gives you something a bit more usable as an everyday bike but all the fun of its bigger brother.
Yamaha YZF-R7
A parallel-twin on a sports bike list? Less than 100 bhp? This is all true, but it's also half the price of some of the other bikes on this list a lot more comfortable too. It's still a sports bike, so it's probably not what you want for a long road-trip but it's not quite as harsh a riding position as others. This could be the perfect compromise between the sports bike you've dreamed of and the road bike you have to live with.
